Non of us are immune to the pressures of the holidays so being able to just kick back with friends listen to some music take in the lights glistening on the tree, candles burning and drink in some genuine friendship is something really special. While doing this one of the girls (Claire) mentioned to me that she enjoyed the music selection I had playing on the stereo. I just have this and that on CD probably picked out of the sale bin at Walmart but I had to agree with her music really did and does play a big part in entertaining and what is Christmas without Christmas music?
My very favorite Christmas song is Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. It's rather a coincidence that one of my favorite Christmas movies is The Family Stone and there's actually a clip of Judy Garland singing the original version of this song years ago in that very movie.
I love love love this version by James Taylor. I grew up listening to him, his voice is so warm it feels like sunshine. And his version of this song; every time I hear him sing it I get all choked up; it's a happy-sad type of choked up. In any case I know there are tons of other great Christmas songs and I'm interested in hearing what you think are the good ones.
What's your favorite Christmas song?
And do you prefer a particular artist singing it?

ReplyDeleteLove the log on TV! That's the only way I could handle a fire in the house.
Great song, love the idea of throwing a log on the TV. Happy Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteI may have to add this song to my Christmas mix. I have a bunch of faves (which I list in this post - http://anotherjennifer.com/christmas-music-memories/). There's nothing quite like spending some time with good friends and family around the holidays!

I have a dvd just like that.We got it a few years ago and I swear the house felt warmer when it was on. Hubby and I had it on and the lights down low and some music playing,in walks daughter and said,"Well you pair have finnally lost the plot,I can't believe what I'm seeing" lol!! I like the song "It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas" and Saviour's Day by Cliff Richard or any of his many Christmas hits.
