A to Z Challenge D is for Deer Abbey

theme‘My views of the south’as seen thru the eyes of a former New Yorker

This picture shows a friend and frequent visitor to our property.

She was fondly named by my granddaughter who aptly chose the name ‘Deer Abbey’.
She especially loves the tender leafs and sweet fruit of our fruit trees.

We see her frequently in the mornings and twilight nibbling on the lower branches of the pear and apple trees lower branches.

Beautiful isn't she?

  2. Oh my, Jen...what a stunning photo. Grands do come up with the most fitting names, and this Doe knows she has it made in the shade. Nice for the letter 'D'.

  5. We have plenty of deer around our neighborhood. I don’t spot them very often. But I know they have been for a visit because they usually have a late dinner of whatever flowers I have planted.
    They are beautiful creatures.

    1. Lyndagrace, We planted 100 blue spruce one in our back field and three in our front yard, they ate 97 of them, My son mowed over two, one survived!! They can be as destructive as they are beautiful.

Hilary, I never get tired of watching them truth be told.

Maria, So glad to see your comment after your long absence from blogging. I missed you!

Silvia, It is Silvia, We have squirrels but my cats kill them, they stay clear of the skunks thank goodness!!
