kickin back with my cannon

I thought that since yesterday was such a glorious weather day I'd take a walk with my hubby out and about on our property. It was 70 and sunny here and even better; it is pretty much going to be that for the remainder of the week.

It's been a long time since my camera (it's a cannon) and I have been together for a serious outing so I took her along. I hope you like the picture I took while we were on our walk. Nothing fancy just the good ole outdoors!

Mother Nature at her best....

We have about a zillion (slight exaggeration) of these trees on our land. And I'm allergic to every darn one of them!! Achoo...

This is our pond, we really don't fish there and it's never cold enough to ice skate there either. Bill was saying today there's so much poison Ivy around it we should really get some goats to clean it up.

I'm sure this old fella used to stand sure and tall by the ponds edge years ago. It's just an empty shell now but I bet the creatures enjoy its presence.

I know I enjoy its beauty.

These are some type of wild berry that were growing by the pond. What an amazing color!! I'm not sure what they're called or even who eats them. We were rather surprised to find them intact since the birds and the wildlife are abundant here.

This picture of the broken branch is actually taken from above looking down and the background is actually the waters reflection of the sky and the trees above

And these are just plain beauties aren't they? Really who could resist taking a picture of these Black Eyed Susan's?

I know what I did today to relax and enjoy myself, how about you?

  2. Stunning! You are soooo very good at this. Your property is beautiful. Loved the old tree trunk and the broken branch with reflection but really all of them. Enjoy your week. Looks like your weather is great, too!

  3. Love these photos--especially the one of the broken branch, so surprised to learn that the background is the water and not actually the sky---beautiful!!

    1. Funny how the muddy water reflected the blue sky so well, I was very surprised!

  4. What a great piece of property you have! I hadn't heard of goats eating poison ivy; interesting! (not that I have poison ivy where I live or goats for that matter :) Thanks for sharing your walk with us; all gorgeous nature shots!

    1. It's all just wild back there Sonya we don't do a thing, pure Mother Nature. The flowers are wild, I'd probably kill them if I touched them. Flowers aren't my think. I'm a vegetable gardener.

  8. WOW! I took a bike ride yesterday morning - it was the first non foggy Sunday morning in a long time - I rode for over two hours but that is really not accurate. I was on the road for over two hours but stopped often with my Canon camera and took photos of fall too! I might have to do a similar to post to yours!

  9. Those are pretty!! I can't pick a favorite. You take great pictures. So goats eat poison ivy? Who knew! Since you've been stumped I wanted to introduce to a blog I follow. She participates in a lot of photos prompts. This particular post of hers is linked to Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I know one of the prompts for this coming Sunday is "yellow" so you already have that one. ;-) http://youllshootyoureyeout-kathy.blogspot.com/2012/09/scavenger-hunt-sunday-9231012-edition.html

  11. Jen, I love what you captured here! The first photo of the pond is beautiful....your very own pond! Lucky you. Don't you just love the feeling of 'getting lost' inside your camera? Nothing better that that to stay in the present!!
What did I do? Well, I was trying to catch an ocean spray shot of a para-surfer at the beach.

  12. What beautiful pictures! They look professional. My husband gave me a new camera for my bday and it's more advanced than I can figure out, so, to be honest, I don't really like it. You have mastered the use of yours, though. Stunning pics. :-)

If it would stop bloomin raining here I might be able to take some more.We have berries on our tree but the colour is not as vibrant as yours are.
