A little more about Jen

                                                      Hi I'm Jen,
I'm Irish Catholic over 50 woman, married happily for 31 years. My husband Bill and I have five kids, three boys and two girls, three grandsons and two granddaughters.

A tragic accident took the life of two of our children, our daughter Gretchen and our son Eric in 2006. Although it was a very difficult time for our family we are surviving with strength, faith and hope for our families future. With the Grace of God 'We're Living a Full Life' despite our terrible loss.

Bill and I are empty nester's; and since our children are grown now we are free to travel on long trips or for short weekend get away's whenever the mood strikes. When we're home however; we read, garden, entertain, listen to music and hang out with our kids, grand-kids and my mom who lives next door. Our current roommates-four cats, Linus, Tarzan, Oliver and Eightball.

I do hope that you'll join me on my blog as I write about our life's journey. I'd love it if you'd read through some of my blog posts-poke around a bit and get to know me or just say hi.

Your are more than welcome!

  1. Jennifer, you are such a good writer. You should write a book. I'll be the first to buy it. I love you, cousin. Jeanmarie

  2. Hi Ho Jen...you were so kind to listen to Mark and comment on Sophie's blog and wish me a Happy Birthday...not too many would do that to a stranger.
Will be spending some time in your world.
    Cheers!

  4. I popped over at Martha's suggestion...I have loved some Irish Catholics....;-). A lot. Sometimes when met with tragedy like that...a full life does not seem possible again. I am very glad that was not so for you. ~Mary

  10. Now that I'm not quite so obsessed with getting new blog posts ready, I have a bit more time to look around other people's blogs. Your comment about my boys' photos intrigued me, and I had to stop and look at all of your family photos. I'm so sorry that you had to go through losing your kids. I admire your faith to keep living life to the fullest. I'm sure I'll still be stopping by, so keep up the great work!

  11. Ah Jen. I finally took the time to really dive in deeply into your blog so I could know more of the back story I only had glimpses of. You have shared your journey, as difficult as it must have been and still be, with grace and blessing. There is healing in your words for those who come. You show how letting God in can make you capable of "living a full life" even in the midst of tremendous heartache. I am blessed to have had this extended visit. May God continue to work in you and through you so that sweater your aunt described so aptly will help you to continue to be a warm comfort for those "in the club no one wants to belong to." Thank you for sharing your story. Much love, Maria at Delight Directed Living
