fessing up friday

Fessing up isn't all that hard to do. I'll be doing it most every Friday on this blog.

This week I'm fessing up to:

1 .I'm fessing up to forgetting to vote for the first time in my life on this election day.

2. I'm fessing up to cancelling attending our regular ladies dinner this Friday night, no reason, just not feeling it!

3. I'm fessing up to watching way to much TV when my husband was away on his trip. Can anyone say Burn Notice marathon?

4 .I'm fessing up to going to bed really early while my husband was gone so I could hog the whole bed!

5. I'm fessing up to the fact that we don't recycle regularly in our house, we're responsible for transporting our own garbage to the dump we kinda do it when the mood strikes. I know, terrible!

6. I'm fessing up serious outrage at the adults that turn a blind eye to abuse of children.

7. My husband gave permission for someone to hunt on our land. I'm fessing up; hate it!

If you need to unburden yourself, just fess up in the form of a comment.

fessing up friday

Ever since my friend Kristen over at a little something for me ended her Confession Booth linky things have been building up for me. So although my new blog as of today has 4 followers (and one of them is me) they'll be no linky, I'm thinking it wouldn't exactly be a hit.

So on Friday's when the mood stikes I'll be "fessing up" to whatever is weighing me down with a twist of humor.

This week I'm fessing up to:

I was given a half a large bag of Halloween candy from my Mom and we didn't get a single Trick or Treat-er at our house; guess whose been in that darn bag of candy all week?

I'm annoyed and in a bit of a rut or maybe just to comfortable cooking the same things over and over again and just a tiny bit lazy to find and experiment with new recipes.

I'm to being a bit bummed out that grilling season is just about over and now I have to do all the cooking.

I fess up to being really out of shape, I was in pain from walking when we toured DC two weeks ago. I also confess I haven't a thing to get into shape, to rectify the situation.

I spoil my cat Cheetah and let him sleep in my bed but not the other cats.

I am fessing up that  my neighbors cats are trying to come through our kitty doors to get the cat food in our house, and causing problems with our cats. But I'm too polite to say something even when they asked if their cats were a problem. I don't want bad feelings with the neighbors- they're kinda nice people.

I am fessing up in a yucky way that my toe nails are long and my feet are like sand paper, I could probably climb a telephone poll with my bare feet. I need to give myself a pedicure.

Need to get fess up to something? Feel free to tell us in a comment.....

do your job for crying out loud!

I have an intense dislike for people who give poor customer service. I have an even greater dislike when I start getting the feeling that I'm dealing with people who would rather put all their energies into harassing me the client then in doing their job.

So now I need to vent!

When I was ill with my MRSA wound I required medical equipment in order to heal more quickly, my insurance authorized the use of this equipment with a participating provider for a period of three months at a cost of zero dollars to me-or so I thought. When my doctor determined the course of treatment was complete (after five weeks) I returned the device.

That is when the first call came. The company who provided the equipment wanted to confirm my insurance ID # because the insurance denied the claim. Well I had an authorization in my hand so I asked the girl are you sure you're filing with the right insurance company, because I’ve had the same number for over thirty years?

I had a suspicion they weren’t doing it correctly since I live in Virginia, the company who provided the service was is in Texas and my insurance is from New York so I wanted to confirm. I even asked twice and was dismissed, they assured me they were the experts “they do this all day long they know how to file insurance claims”.

Then a few weeks passed and a gentleman called saying that my insurance company wasn't recognizing my insurance ID # and the claim was denied. Could I confirm the number again, so I gave it to him. I asked again whether the claim was being sent to the right insurance company; again I was dismissed because they know what they’re doing!

Then again it happened with another person calling......

Then again it happened with another person calling.....

The other day I received a voice mail from Ramona, the insurance collection specialist; she asked if I would please call her back. I did; every freekin day for three days and she NEVER returned my phone call. Needless to say now I'm really pissed.

But not as pissed as I was when the letter from her came on the fourth day, saying” they would encourage me to get involved in the processing of this claim”. Charges due $4,577.00 for the medical equipment; claims to date have been denied.

The denials were NOT from MY INSURANCE COMPANY! * insert screams and foul language of your choice here*

So I'm left pondering these things.

What if I was an elderly person or otherwise a vulnerable person, not familiar with my benefits? Is it possible that the letter I received could have been construed as a bill? I think it’s possible. I’m wondering how many people would have just sent the money in thinking it was due!

This company employs a staff of people to file insurance claims and secure payment. In today's economy there are tons of people who would love to have a job and would actually work- do the job they’re paid to do.  What burns my ass is that not one person including the insurance collection specialist called the insurance company listed on the authorization form; does that make sense to you?

I called my insurance company and they didn't have a record of one single claim or call from them requesting payment or asking for assistance on how to properly file a claim. They are participating providers (duh!) and the authorization form has the name of the insurance company written on the letterhead. And the $4, 577.00, never gonna happen, they are contractually obligated to take a reduced amount.

I arranged for my insurance company to call Ramona, they left her a voice mail too, I’m not holding my breath if she'll call them back.

YES, you're supposed to stop for an old lady in the crosswalk

It used to be that we stopped for old ladies with canes, ANYTIME. Now we just practically run them down, they're just don't matter, why bother, places to go people to see; right?. Some people need a good ass kicking if you ask me! Crazy drivers!

We went to lunch today at a local restaurant up at the mall. Mom, my son Matthew my husband and I. My daughter and her family are presently visiting Mickey Mouse down in Florida so it was just us four.

As we were leaving I walked off the curb into the parking lot at the crosswalk and my son took Mom's arm, the first car yielded as they should.

It should be said that the traffic goes in both directions just so you get an idea of the situation.

All of the sudden the cars in back of the lead car started pulling out into the oncoming lane because Mom walks slow ( pardon her from keeping you from K-Mart for 30 seconds). Idiots  not only almost hit her and my son but came pretty darn close to running me over too! They're like mindless cattle one does it and more follow. Believe it or not  there were several, one would be bad enough.

WTF did they think they're doing? Doesn't anyone have any respect for the elderly anymore?

To the persons who did this let me just say.  You almost ran down a handicapped elderly woman. MY MOTHER I'd rather like to keep her around for as long as possible, thank you very much. I'm not even going to touch on the traffic rules you broke in your rush to shop.  Have you no shame?  Are the sales at the store so important?  I wonder how you feel if it was your mother?

And to those of you reading this, how would you feel if it was your Mom?

Tell me folks how do you think society is treating our elderly? Because I gotta tell ya, today I was discouraged big time. Fleeting moment or terrible trend?

It is an un-natural attachment I know!

I spent spent a good bit of my morning on the phone with Danial the HP guy. It seems the CPU in my new Notebook died some time during the night. I am grieved beyond words; well I do have enough words for a short post!

This laptop is brand spanking new for crying out loud!! Now my sorry ass is sitting in front of my husbands desk top typing this post! I hate his computer, it quite frankly feels weird to me, rather like sleeping in a strange bed or using someone else's bathroom to do #2.

Now I send my red almost new notebook off to the HP repair people off in the sky; for free! Yippee for the warranty and they'll fix her up (in a lot longer than) no time. But a big boohoo for me that I don't have my laptop and a big BOO and a HISS for HP that my laptop failed after only three months. This is not good!

A few things strike me about this whole thing:

1. They just don't make things the way they used to do they?

2. They send you confirmation e-mails when your computer dies asking you to confirm the serial # and other information. How do you receive them if you computer's broken? They didn't ask me if I had a spare!

3. Nothing is quick anymore, it may take three weeks for my computer to be returned, heck it didn't take that long to build the darn thing!

4. There's always that little "and if" and if we find your brother's wife's niece spilled a drink on your laptop then we'll bill you all the charges. The back door is always open isn't it?

5. Those numbers I mentioned in (2) they're hidden in the battery compartment, and you need the Hubble telescope to read them they're so small, I don't work for NASA.

Am I the only one that finds this whole thing just plain dumb?

this is what i think - Friday Flip-Offs 7-14

OMG do I have a list of bitchiness for MOMMA KISS' Friday Flip-Offs, if you haven't already check out her site and link up, vent a bit its good for the complexion and it's cheaper than therapy!

This week I will be giving the one finger salute and in some cases more fingers to:

Sleep problems
I cannot remember when the last time I had a full nights sleep.

Compression bandages
These flippin things are horrible, 24/7 torture of the leg. Wet bandage with a dry bandage over it, kinda of like wet underwear with dry pants over them- YUCK!!

Rain
Stop already for goodness sake's five inches IS enough.....I know where your dirty little mind is going; that's rain I'm talking about!

Unpaid vacations
My brother and sister in law just visited  us for a short vaca, but didn't stay long...she doesn't get paid vaca; what's up with that?

Derek Jeter
Your worth a bazillion dollars man you should have let the fan/ kid keep the damn 3000 hit ball or payed him a fair price for it, dumb ass.

my local hospital's wound center
You geniuses were supposed to make my leg better not give me MRSA; jerks. I wish I had more fingers but you'd probably infect them like you did my leg!

this is what I think- Friday Flip-Offs

Ok I admit it I'm as weak as the next gal and I need a good vent. Today I was reading on of my regular blogs reads Sluiter Nation and poof there it was, she was doing it oh yeah!. MOMMA KISS  has the greatest idea it's called Friday Flip-offs; vent your spleen on Friday and link up on her blog. HEAVEN!!! This is my first time and as you can see I'm flipping of several things.

Casey Anthony & The News
Has everyone heard enough on the news about Casey Anthony? If the news organizations spent half their time putting up pictures of missing children instead of drooling over that women maybe there would be less dead kids in the country! Just saying..

Being held hostage
Before my brother and his family came last week, Mom just about held me hostage in the wine and beer aisles of the store to make sure we had enough for everyone to drink; it was  a bit unnerving being held hostage- I almost broke open a bottle! Mom wants everyone to have their favorite adult beverages- this is good- holding me hostage until it is done- not so good!

My garden
Every time it rains my damn tomatoes fall over into the mud; what a freekin muddy mess. My soil is yucky can we say the words pig snot?

Weekly doctors visits & my leg & the nurse
I hate going to the doctor and its a weekly thing now with this leg wound, and there is one nurse there- not liking her so much.

No Vaca & my leg
I didn't get a vacation this summer, because of my stupid leg. I want to go to the beach really badly but can't, no sand or water. I would really like to strangle someone about now.

My leg
No pool ; my leg again .Last week my brother and family came for the five year anniversary and I had to sit by the pool the whole week while everyone else swam, floated around, dove off the diving board and sun bathed. Talk about sucking!

Grey hair
Did I mention the grey hairs are turning whiter, crap! I'm using the box stuff now but surly its only a matter of time before I'll need professional help.

Doctors who run late
How about being on time Doctors? Running an hour behind, do you think I have anything else to do? I do have a life you know!

Oh and did I mention my leg?
