beautiful thief

My husband and I were out in the backyard the other day drooling over the nectarines growing on a small tree we have growing amongst  other fruit trees growing on our property. Three days later the tree was stripped bare. I believe today I identified our thief!!

He's a beauty isn't he?
Enjoy.

  1. I think you caught him red handed. I see that leaf! Gorgeous!

  2. Wow--it would be hard to get angry at something so beautiful for robbing your fruit trees. You are blessed to be growing your own fruit and veggies, and to be able to see wildlife right in your own yard.

Enjoy.....I will be green with envy when you start harvesting.

    Take care

    1. We love our trees Kathleen, nectarine, apple, pear and peach. We frequently pull the excess fruit off and throw it down on the ground for the wildlife to munch on.

The peach trees are quite immature so they are inside the fence so that beautiful little fella can't get to them. I'd planning to do a peach and vidalia onion relish this year if I get enough peach's.

  3. Hi Jen, I thought at first your beautiful thief may have been a bird. What a pleasant surprise, he is indeed a beauty! I just love your photographic evidence. This truly made me smile big today. Love and care, Kerrie

    1. As long as he stays out of my fence and leaves my peaches alone I'm fine!

My neighbors would be thinking I'm nuts for shooting him with a camera and not a gun!

  6. Oh my gosh! How wonderful to have such a beautiful animal so close! He is clearly caught red-handed!! A mixed blessing, I guess...losing all the fruit. We lost all our produce to pickle worms...I would have preferred a deer. :-)

  7. So beautiful...however very destructive in this neck of the woods...they eat anything and everything...our property is surrounded with fence and trees and so far...great luck!

  12. She's lovely. It must be great to have friuit trees in your garden we don't have enough sun here to grow trees like that ,even my blossem tree that only flowers for one week a year didn't flower this year as the rain and wind a few weeks ago was too much for it.

  15. What a pretty thief he is. I can imagine the fun you had taking this photo. Did you tell your husband you were going outside to shoot a deer? ;)

  16. Yeah, you'd need a much higher fence to keep that thief out!
