Listen baby!

My friend Paula is hosting a July Blog Challenge. If you click on the link below the banner it will take you to her blog. If you click here it will take you to the list of daily topics for the month also at her blog..

TODAY’S TOPIC

If you could give a newborn child one piece of advice what would it be?

My advice would be to relish every moment of your childhood if you can. I see so many children rush to grow up and miss all the fun and wonder of being a child. Enjoy your innocence, explore, learn, dream and play.

You will be a grownup soon enough.

  1. So true! I couldn't wait to grow up and now I wish I could go back and not have to be the 'responsible one' Great advice

  2. It's so funny you say that, I always say that to my kids. Now, my 17 yr old daughter tells that to my 8 yr old son when he says that he can't wait to be older! It only took her a little while to figure it out.

    1. Ms A, Bothers me when kids rush to grow up and even worse when parents rush the kids to grow up.

Paula,I'm that too so I get it Paula!

Elena, Good for her. 17 is such a good age and still such a fun time to be a kid!

  5. I'm your newest follower. Good advice, kids do grow up too soon; but I ponder whether that's them or their parents. Parents need to let kids be kids and hold them off doing more adult stuff. Childhood is great.

    1. Lisa, Thanks I look forward to getting to know you better.

Flora, Wouldn't it be nice if we came with instruction booklets?

Sandy, Welcome to the blog Sandy. I agree sometimes it's the kids and more than often it's the parents pushing the kids because it makes their lives easier! Sad but true...

  6. Great advice, Jen. I think kids these days get way too busy too early in life. We need to slow them down and let them enjoy being kids!

  7. Oh, so true! Be so nice, as you say, if life, early on, came with an instruction booklet.

  8. I tell my daughter this often. I tell her to be a kid as long as possible because it gets harder with bills.
