TODAY’S TOPIC
Post a picture of something or someone that made your day special.
Independence Day is a rough holiday for me . On the third of July seven years ago our daughter Gretchen 30 and our son Eric 23 were killed in a horrible accident here on the highways of Virginia.
As I reflect on my loss I cannot do so without also reflecting on the many blessings of our family, friends and a faith that continue to lift me up and give me strength.
This part of the challenge was a no brainer for me. He not only makes my day but he is my rock.
My husband Bill...

I'm so sorry for your loss, and glad you have your faith to lift you up. Wonderful picture of your hubby there in the garden!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy, Faith plays a huge part in coping with such a loss. I can't help but think that certain people were placed into my life to support me and were put there by God especially for that purpose.
DeleteOh! an Bill, notice he's posing and not picking weeds huh!
I cannot imagine what the Fourth of July means to you. My thoughts are with you during this time! Where would we be in this world without out faith? Hugs for you today my friend
ReplyDeleteWhile everyone celebrates we mourn Paula, not overtly anymore but in our own way.
DeleteI would imagine without our faith we'd be lost and lost is ok sometimes but HE should always be the destination.
You continue to amaze and bless me with your courage and strength.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you kind lady.
DeleteEveryone needs a ROCK, some more than others. You are very fortunate to have yours!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing to have!

DeleteJen, I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought on the photo of your husband was how he would make a good scarecrow if he were wearing tan instead of white. :-)
Thanks Flora we've come a long way in the past seven years and have learned that despite everything life goes on!
DeleteWould you believe my husband has a crow that is his friend? So that comment is hysterical. I'm gonna post the picture of the two of them on the back porch sitting together!
Roots grow strong & deep into the soil.
