Goals for July

Sorry for the disappearing act last week! I went to visit some friends and ended up spending a week. Bill God love him stayed home and hung out with Mom so I could really have a nice visit.

I find the problem with taking those types of blogging breaks especially right on top of my vacation in the Bahamas is it's really hard to get back into the routine of blogging.

Especially with the hot lazy days of summer here. Lazy being the key word here!

Anyhoo...I did check out a few blogs that I read regularly since I've returned and my friend Paula is doing a July Blog Challenge. If you click on the link below the banner it will take you to her blog. If you click here it will take you to the list of topics for the month also at her blog..

I think it's a perfect way to get back into the swing of things for July. If you'd like to join us, here's  her link below, all are welcome!

MY GOALS FOR JULY ARE:

  1. To keep up with picking the weeds in the gardens.
  2. To keep up with the vegetables in the garden. Sometimes the heat and bugs make it tempting to skip a day of picking and that's just  a waste of good veggies.
  3. To read more books. I've gotten out of the habit of reading the past 7 years but I really need to buckle down and read more.
  4. Exercise, the treadmill is collecting dust!
  5. Do a bit of entertaining. Invite some couples that we are friends with over for dinner. We just don't do enough of that any more.
So tell me dear blog friends. What's going on with you this July. Plans? Goals?

  2. Keeping up with the gardening is a huge chore. I didn't plant a garden this summer due to Richard's declining health. And I miss it! I love to garden. Happy you are joining in on the challenge!

    1. Don't I know it but it's benefits are fabulous. Last night we had potatoes, pickled beets and cucumbers all from the garden with our meal.

  3. We just got home from a long visit with my family. Now I need to set some intentions for July, too, I think. I'm with you -- it's hard to get back into a routine!

    1. It's so hard to keep up with all of it Emily but I'll do my best. If I get half of this list done I'll feel pretty good.

  4. I inherited a beautiful garden and now I'm learning how to take care of it. Yesterday I spent about an hour clearing out the overgrown asparagus. I feel so bad about that. I need to get out there every day. It's so hot here that it's just not fun:(

    1. That's the problem with gardening you turn your head for a minute and it gets out of control! But asparagus is so good and worth the effort Pamela!

    1. I am so out of shape Dana its not funny. But I do sweat like crazy and get that heart rate up in the garden. I'm thinking the treadmill will be a bit nicer since its in the air conditioner and not under the blazing sun, oh did I mention the bugs?!

  7. Gardening is so tedious. But the veggies are worth it in the end. I wish I had better soil and a green thumb so I could have a garden. I also am going to try to read more books this month and exercise more. We can all keep each other motivated. :) Glad to see you back! Bahamas sound nice.

    1. I just read The Time of My Life by Cecelia Ahern. I would recommend it. It really had great characters and a very unique plot.

  8. My goals for July? Recover from the other eleven months! Spend time reading, writing, taking neighborhood walks, and get a little visiting time in with family - several of those events in the works. Oh, and get over to the beach a few times too!

  9. Well,my July won't consist of weeding, that much I know! I leave that to the boyfriend because I'm paranoid about fire ants. They're EVERYWHERE here!

I think it's great that you've been escaping into your summer!

    1. My Aunt and Uncle lived near Myrtle Beach and the ants were terrible there too! Terrible little creatures...

I think we're pretty much home for the summer until mid September then we're off to Charleston & Edisto Island for a vacay.
