well isn't she special!

My friend Paula is doing a July Blog Challenge. If you click on the link below the banner that says Paula's Place it will take you to her blog if you'd like to join. If you click here it will take you to the list of daily topics for the month also at her blog..

TODAY’S TOPIC

Write about someone you really care about.

I was reminded today in a conversation about the fact that you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. It was about something else but it got me to thinking about who I'd write about in this post.

As I mentioned the other day in my about me post,  I have two brothers and no sisters.  I am lucky enough that I do have someone who fills that special role in my life. She's both close friend and confidante. We talk all the time and we have a comfortable loving bond that transcends friendship. There is no way to know for sure, but I often I imagine that's what a sister would be.

I'm talking about my sister in law Denise.

  1. Your sister in law sounds very special. I DO have a sister, but we do not have a close bond at all.

  2. Lucky you to have a wonderful SIL.
Mine was a nightmare wrapped in betrayal and lies. The evilest of evil.
BUT she is gone now and the family is starting to repair itself again.
    We will rise again lol
Lucky you to have a great one xx

  3. So glad you have a 'Sister SIL'. I have 'TWO'...both very precious to me. Lucky me I have a Bio-Sister, too. I thank our parents everyday for her....she's ten years younger and my twin...it's been fun.

    1. Sometimes I wonder why I got so lucky. But then I think about Bill's side of the family and there's nobody and I'm grateful.

  7. Friends are family that you DO pick! I have friends that are way closer to me than my sisters. I have a half sister who is 12 years younger than me that I LOVE! Unfortunately she lives across the US from me. Then I have a step-sister, who lives 20 minutes from me, who I haven't seen in 2 years. We have been sisters for 25 years but no close relationship. We used to, but not anymore. Now my friends on the other hand...they are my 'sisters'. These girls know more about me then I think my husband does sometimes...haha.
