This church is called Good Shepherd.
It is located on a fairly isolated country road not far from my house.
I have attended services here with friends who regularly worship here although it is not my church.

It is a lovely building and is the epitome of a quaint
country house of worship in my opinion.
Many similar structures are located throughout our area.

It’s charming isn't it?
It is charming and as you said...quaint. So good to know and see these special Houses of Worship have been preserved, still in use and appreciated. I can not resist stopping and photographing them whenever I run across one....so glad you shared this House of Worship.

What a unique building, quaint and pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect Christmas card church, indeed. It's beautiful pictured here in winter, but I imagine it is equally charming in spring and summer too. I can see a bride and groom coming out that door to a crowd of well-wishers.

So pretty. Do you know how old it is? I love your approach to the A to Z challenge this year!
ReplyDeleteSue, I love older churches.
DeleteSally, The inside is quite lovely as well..
Wendy, You are so right Wendy it would be a great Christmas card.
Jennifer, That is something I'm going to have to inquire about.
That IS charming. I wonder how old it is, too!
ReplyDeleteYou described it perfectly...quaint and charming. Looks like a church I would love to visit.
ReplyDeleteVery charming!
ReplyDeleteIt is charming. Very stately looking.
ReplyDeleteLiz, I'm going to check with a girlfriend and get back on that.
DeletePaula, The people who attend there are so warm and welcoming you'd love it.
Ms. A, I agree!
JE, It is very well kept, neat and tidy.
It is charming! Don't see many churches like that here; everything here is so modern.

I think older churches are interesting. There's just so much history there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love older buildings. You can just feel the stories and the history they have to tell. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen - it does look so pretty - is it a clapper-board building? ... it makes a change seeing one of your smaller village style Churches .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteBetty, I don't feel comfortable in churches that feel like auditoriums. I like the old fashioned ones.
ReplyDeleteDanielle, Agreed, and this area is quite rich with civil war history. I just don't think this church is quite that old.
Marcy, Generations and generations of families belong it's really quite nice.
Hilary, Yes it is and you're right that style really is quite reminiscent of village style churches of your area.
absolutely charming. I love old buildings like this. I bet it smells worn and weathered inside. I grew up in a church like that in Indiana.
ReplyDeleteThe charm of a country church is calming, isn't it. Love the simplicity of these posts. Maria from Delight Directed Living
ReplyDeleteI'd worship there! Lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteSuper charming! We have some churches like that around here too. Actually, when I was in college we lived down the street from one in my small California town.
