Hawaii, my "H" word.
Since my "B" word was beach I'll try to give you a glimpse the flavor of the island with a touch of beach.
Since my words can't do justice to the beauty of this place; this post will mainly be pictures.
No matter where you are, even the car the views are always spectacular.
My sister-in -laws friend invited us over for a cocktail party. This lovely outside bar was in her yard beside the pool. That's my son inside playing beer-tender..
Such beautiful flowers always blooming everywhere all over the island.
Beautiful isn't it?
These lovely ladies serenaded us for a time before my nephews wedding.
How'd you like to be swimming and have this big guy come up next to you?
Not every beach is sand there are plenty of beaches (this one being on the north shore) that are very rocky. I can't swear but I think this is Sharks Cove....been a while.
Plate lunch or dinner anyone? This type of food is a cultural food staple on the island of Oahu. This is just one of many varieties; Kalua pork, poi, macaroni salad, lomi lomi salmon, and a roll. Who wants to cook, just have the food driven up to your house... My beautiful niece is beside the truck..
Sorry I couldn't resist one pretty neat beach picture. I took this on Waimea Bay. I don't know who these ladies are but I like the way they're keeping their balance!
Have you ever been to Hawaii?

I went to Hawaii about 30 years ago and loved it! It was just so different from our area. Thanks for taking me back for a brief visit!

DeleteSpontaneity! What a wonderful idea.
Super photos! I have a brother who lives in HIlo so I have a good excuse to go to Hawaii from time to time. I love the climate and the relaxing feel of the tropical breezes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, it looks such a great place to visit, perhaps one day.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I lived there when I was little for about three years. I say that and generally I get envious moans, but I was so little it nearly was wasted on me. I remember things like snapshots. Your pictures are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy brother's been there since I was a teenager and my sister in law's dad was in the military so she's been there since grade school. The weather is lovely, the people are friendly, the only thing is it's getting very crowded and there's terrible traffic in the city like most cities.
DeleteI would love to go back to Hawaii. There are other islands I would like to see.

My brother and his wife sure did love it when they lived there. My mother, aunt and grandmother went out to visit them and they liked it too. All the pictures surely are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! Never been to Hawaii but some family have and loved it! And I see why from your pics!! Looks like paradise to me!
ReplyDeleteI've never been :(
ReplyDeleteLove the photos they are gorgeous,I thought you were maybe one of the ladies doing the serenading.Oh it looks so lovely you are so lucky to be able to go there.
My husband was stationed on Honolulu when in the Coast Guard on a high endurance cutter that went up to Alaska all the time. Have you watched any of the HGTV's Hawaii Life? It's like a visual vacation and it shows many of the other islands.I'd love to live there when we retire but my husband says it would be too expensive. Heck I'd live in a little shack if I could.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by from the A-Z Challenge list to say "Hi" :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos honey!
Good luck with the rest of the challenge.
xx
Thanks Vikki,
DeleteYou're so sweet!
Great photos! I haven't finished it yet, but I'm doing Hawaii as well. I hope you are having a great day!
ReplyDeleteI've only been once. HAVE to go back and soon, I hope. Such beautiful photos; the images transported me back there for a fraction of a second.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. My husband and I went to Hawaii (Maui) for our honeymoon. I want to go back!
ReplyDeleteOh home sweet home. I get a little homesick every time I see some pictures, even if they're not of Kauai. Lovely pictures. I'm now looking at plane tickets....

We Are Adventure
A lot less crowded than Oahu. I hear it's very beautiful..
DeleteAh yes, beautiful Hawaii, one of my favorite spots too. I lived there for 3 and 1/2 years, met my husband there, and cried when I had to leave. I would love to live there again for another season of life, but don't expect that to happen. Thanks for the beautiful photos of one of my favorite places. God bless, Maria from Delight Directed Living
ReplyDeleteWell then we'll just have to pray that it will happen!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...Hawaii...but that tortoise though! WOW! The pic are gorgeous...I so need a vacay, like now!
